Nordstern has solid experience in constructing modern and functional educational buildings that create optimal frameworks for learning and development
Teaching Facilities
Our projects encompass a wide range of educational institutions, from primary and lower-secondary schools to adult education centres. One example is Campus Horsens, which covers 37,500 m² and houses VIA University College, Innovation House and the SOSU school. The campus promotes collaboration and innovation across educational programmes and creates a dynamic environment for students and teaching staff.
Each project is designed in close collaboration with the consultants. The process is based on the institution’s educational principles and specific needs. We have experience in developing solutions that take account of factors such as indoor climate, acoustics, daylight, layout and the learning environment. One example is Lindbjerg School, which is designed as a small town comprising three separate multi-storey buildings.
In 2026, Nordstern also completed and handed over Søhøjlandets School and Daycare Centre in Ry to Skanderborg Municipality. The school and daycare centre are brought together within the same building.
New Requirements for Health, Climate Footprint, and Flexibility
To create educational institutions that support the teaching needs of the future, we draw on both in-house specialists and external experts. Our aim is to create inspiring learning environments, such as Guldminen, an independent school specialising in sport, where the design provides considerable flexibility between indoor and outdoor teaching.
Our in-house specialists also contribute actively to making the right choices in projects such as the DGNB-certified Håndværkskollegiet in Horsens, where particular consideration was given to the choice of materials.
