The history of Nordstern
Nordstern is one of Denmark’s leading property developers and design-and-build contractors. As a management contractor, Nordstern does not carry out construction work using its own workforce. Instead, we assemble and manage the right team of subcontractors and consultants for each project, while retaining overall responsibility for quality, costs and progress. Nordstern’s history dates back to 1979. Today, we operate throughout Denmark, with offices in Aarhus, Horsens and Copenhagen. Our nearly 350 employees work with dedication every day to develop and construct residential and commercial buildings and deliver renovation projects

Nordstern Collaborates Across the Industry
Nordstern works with a dialogue-based and inclusive approach, proactively addressing disagreements to prevent conflicts. For several years, we have strategically focused on collaboration within internal teams on the construction sites and with our clients and partners.
To strengthen our collaborative efforts, Nordstern chose in 2023 to join the interdisciplinary collaboration guided by The Danish Association for Responsible Construction ARC) [Byggeriets Samfundsansvar] and The Danish Association of Construction Clients (DACC) [Bygherre Foreningen].
Nordstern has participated in a number of workshops and committed to working with concrete initiatives, in addition to the initiatives we already pursuing, such as start-up workshops, data collection, knowledge sharing, follow-up, and evaluation of collaborations.
The new collaboration has given us an even greater focus on:
- Psychological safety throughout the project organization
- Mental presence at collaborative workshops
- Onboarding during projects
