Construction of primary school for Herning Municipality

Lindbjergskolen

New and modern primary school designed as a 'mini-city'

Lindbjergskolen is a new and modern primary school, designed as a 'mini-city' with three independent three-storey buildings (Trinhusene) dedicated to primary, middle and lower secondary education.

The buildings are customised for each learning and age group and are connected by a large, dynamic common area.

The outdoor area is also designed with a wealth of opportunities for activity and exercise that can be utilised around the clock. There are shelters, football pitches, skate park, parkour park, climbing course and more.

The school is one of Denmark's first 24-7 schools. This means that the school not only provides teaching facilities, but also functions as the cultural and activity centre for the entire local area, with sports halls, after-school centres, a café, library and similar cultural offerings.

Lindbjergskolen has room for 1,000 students and replaces the two former primary schools, Hammerum Skole and Gjellerupskolen.

Lindbjergskolen was named School Building of the Year 2020.
