Certification

By certifying buildings, it is possible to make active choices about materials and processes that reduce the building's impact on the environment. We have, therefore committed ourselves to ensuring that all new residential and office buildings from 2023 onwards will be certified

A better future

All newly built residential and office buildings from 2023 and onwards must be certified. In 2023, we did not quite reach our goal, as 80% of the newly started residential and office buildings are planned to be certified. Residential buildings will either get the Nordic Swan Ecolabel or be DGNB certified. Commercial buildings will be DGNB certified. We advise our clients on how to choose the best sustainability solutions for their building and its users. We do this to reduce the negative impact on the climate and environment of the building. We also do this to optimize the conditions for future users of the building.

For Nordstern, however, efforts go far beyond the construction itself. As part of our efforts, we also work to ensure and strengthen the health and well-being of our employees. We constantly strive to create the optimum framework for life and happiness for the users of our buildings, e.g., by developing community-based urban areas. That is our contribution to a better future for Denmark.

For Nordstern rækker indsatsen dog langt videre end selve byggeriet. Som en del af vores indsats arbejder vi også på at sikre og styrke.

Our goals have been supported by the following initiatives in 2021

  • A DGNB and sustainability manager are appointed on all construction sites
  • Internal training in the DGNB certification scheme
  • A process that ensures that Nordstern’s sustainability department provides support and guidance at the right times during the lifespan of a certified project
  • In Dalux, we have, as standard, incorporated a supervision plan of DGNB for construction management and DGNB points in control plans for subcontractors
  • Support tools for DGNB certification (contract material, prices, checklists, site boards, etc.)
  • Checklist for energy and resource-saving measures on the construction site
