Teglgården consists of 244 homes and three commercial leases
Trælasten is Aarhus' new central district, developed in close collaboration with Pension Denmark, Boligforeningen Ringgården, and Aarhus Municipality. The project encompasses both housing and commercial buildings spread across seven subprojects. Teglgården (TB1) is Nordstern's first project in Trælasten.
Teglgården consists of 244 homes and three small commercial leases. The homes are divided into 147 student homes and 97 family apartments. Teglgården is a block development of four to six stories with a communal courtyard in the center and an underground parking basement. The parking basement is equipped with storage rooms and parking spaces for 69 cars and 407 bicycles.
The project is based on the partial preservation of the existing office building at Daubjergvej 15, which has been elevated and integrated into the new development.
Materials such as roof tiles and cut-out sections of facade bricks from the demolished buildings have been reused in the construction of Teglgården.
The overall project, Trælasten, encompasses 70,000 sq m, distributed as 80% homes and 20% retail and commercial spaces. The goal is for the homes, shops, and offices to achieve DGNB Gold certification and for the urban space to achieve DGNB Platinum certification. The area is designed to cater to a diverse population, from students and families to seniors. On the street level, small shops, workshops, cafés, coworking spaces, and green natural areas will be established around and between the buildings. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2029.
Teglgården is DGNB Gold certified according to the DGNB Manual 2020 for New Buildings and Major Renovations - Residential. The certification is issued on 29.11.2024.
