Development of empty commercial property in collaboration with the City of Copenhagen
Sundmolen is an extensive residential project in Copenhagen, which Nordstern developed and built for CapMan Real Estate. The building was constructed on an empty commercial site in close co-operation with the City of Copenhagen throughout the process.
Sundmolen was built in three stages: Sundmolehusene, CPH Porthouse and Copenhagen Square.
The first stage was Sundmolehusene, which consists of 72 owner-occupied apartments and 11 townhouses with between one and three bedrooms. Sundmolehusene creates a natural connection between the charming industrial warehouses, the green landscape and the blue sea. The nuance of materials creates a natural connection between the apartments and townhouses.
The Nordic style is enhanced by a sustainable choice of materials, ranging from light bronze tones to bricks in light, warm natural colours.
The alternating recessed and protruding facades create a vibrant expression with lots of interaction between light and shadow.
The living spaces are positioned and orientated in relation to the sun, maximising the use of light. The integrated balconies add character to the buildings and create a unique facade.
