Renovation of 14 blocks with 172 public housing homes, merged into 154 homes
Renovation of 14 blocks of 172 public housing homes, merged to create 154 public housing homes. All apartments have a new bathroom, a ventilation system and a new front door. The gables and the apartments were pointed with joints and reinsulated as required.
The sewer and perimeter drain were replaced and the basement walls were reinsulated. The purpose of both measures is to safe the building against large amounts of water and damp penetration.
During the renovation, Nordstern was responsible for resident management and was in close discussion with the client, who was responsible for planning rehousing during the project. During renovation, another priority was environmental remediation to protect residents and employees from harmful substances and materials, including asbestos.
The renovation included the provision of accessible housing. The renovation also included the replacement of the roof, where a hybrid solar panel system was subsequently installed. Windows were also replaced in selected blocks to improve the indoor climate.
During the project, there was a focus on sustainability. Soil and gravel were recycled, and the construction site was supplied with green power from renewable energy sources and a heat pump.
