Skråningen I+II is a Nordic Swan Ecolabelled timber structure
In collaboration with EcoVillage, Nordstern developed, funded and built two co-housing schemes in Lejre – Skråningen I and II.
The building is a Nordic Swan Ecolabelled, environmentally friendly timber structure. Residents have an electric car sharing scheme, communal organic dining, communal kitchen gardens, and a scenic setting with views of the river and Allerslev.
Skråningen I consists of 46 homes with a communal building and swimming pool. In 2019, the building was nominated for Building Green's sustainability award.
The residents of Skråningen I moved in in March 2019.
Skråningen II comprises 53 homes with a communal building and activity hall. The homes use recycled rainwater for toilet flushing and laundry. The residents of Skråningen II moved in in March 2021.
Both the communal buildings are 725 sq m with facilities such as a catering kitchen, workshop, shared office space, TV lounge and a teenage section.
All homes are insulated with paper wool and have a heat pump as heat source.
The co-housing communities are Nordic Swan Ecolabelled timber structures built from proven, more sustainable materials. The building is modular and was manufactured in Denmark. The facade cladding is made with Thermowood profile boards.
