The Savannehuset residential area in Ørestad Syd was constructed by Nordstern on behalf of Topdanmark Ejendomme. The area comprises a total of 234 housing with a total living space of 22,400 sq m and a basement of 6,900 sq m.
The buildings, which vary between four and seven stories high, are part of the block neighbourhood in Ørestad Syd. The location next to Amager Fælled and close to Copenhagen city centre makes the residential area attractive to a wide clientele, both younger and older people, as well as families with children.
The buildings are designed to be multi-use and flexible, using long-lasting materials.
Common areas and courtyards are designed as shady outdoor spaces, while the siting of the housing is oriented towards sunlight and views of the scenic, open neighbouring landscape.
