Renovation and conversion of 60 homes

Overall renovation and rebuilding of Rødegårdsvej, Unit 72, in collaboration with Civica – Social house building in Odense. The renovation work aims to future-proof the unit and was carried out with the support of Landsbyggefonden.

The unit has a gross floor area of ​​4,926 square meters, divided into five blocks of apartments on three floors, and a basement.

The renovation included merging homes, where the total number of homes before the renovation was 60 homes. 24 homes were merged to create 18, 24 homes were modernised, and the remaining 12 were converted into accessible housing. Following the renovation, there are now 54 homes. All residents were rehoused in connection with the project.

The block of apartments with the 12 accessible housing now has new staircases with windbreaks and two lifts. In the remaining blocks of apartments, the staircases and all internal surfaces in the blocks were renovated, and communal facilities were established for the janitor and unit board.

All homes now have new balconies, windows, a new kitchen and bathroom, and new plumbing and electrical installations. The roof was replaced on all blocks of apartments and the attics were re-insulated to achieve an improved energy rating. There is also a new mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery.

Gables were reinsulated, while the rest of the facade was insulated and covered with cladding tiles or aluminium in light facade sections. Joints on the facade were re-pointed as needed.

The entire outdoor facility was renovated, and two new courtyards were created for shared use by the residents.

The project also included wiring works at ground level and included water mains with service pipes and district heating pipes, and service pipes, electricity, fibre, internet and antenna lines. Rain, drainage and waste water pipes and wells were also installed.

The project also involved PCB and asbestos remediation.
