The homes are distributed over four blocks of apartments on eight floors each
Nordstern is renovating 268 public-housing family homes for Domea on Amager in Copenhagen. The department on Prags Boulevard was built in 1980 and consists of four blocks of apartments on eight floors. The department has 13 homes with two rooms, 239 family homes with three rooms and 16 homes with four rooms. The number of homes and rooms will be unchanged after the renovation.
The project includes re-insulating the east-facing facades and gables, and the replacement of east-facing balconies and windows. In several places in the development, thermal bridges will be repaired. The west facade underwent major renovation in 2005, and is therefore only a minor part of this renovation project.
All bathrooms are being renovated, and the gabled apartments in staircase no. 22 and 28 will be given a new bathroom. The floors of the homes will be replaced as required.
Installations will be replaced and the homes will be given a mechanical ventilation system to optimise the indoor climate in the building.
The membrane of the parking deck will be replaced to repair leaks, and new asphalt will be laid in the parking area with space for 96 cars.
The outdoor areas will be upgraded with new planting and improved lighting. There will also be a playing field with seating and activity space.
All residents will be rehoused staircase by staircase during the renovation.
