Renovation of 350 family homes

Moldeparken

All 350 homes were given energy renovation with new doors and windows

Renovation of 350 family homes in seven flat blocks with a total of 35 stairwells.

The blocks of apartments were built in the 1960s and early 1970s. They consist of five floors of living space and a full basement. The purpose of the renovation was to repair the failures and damage that had occurred over time, and to create an overall building with a higher standard of living and comfort for each resident.

Interior demolition was carried out in both apartments and stairwells, and lift and lift shafts were installed. Environmental remediation was carried out during the demolition work.

The blocks were renovated in three different levels: Comfort housing (110 homes), renovation housing (120 homes) and accessibility housing (120 homes). In the latter, residents were temporarily rehoused during construction. In the apartments where rehousing took place, Nordstern took over the cleaning of loose fittings in the apartments, while the contractor removed fixtures.

Energy renovation was implemented in all 350 homes with new windows and doors. Each homes was also given a new, larger balcony with folding glass doors.

The apartments have new kitchens and bathrooms in 115 accessible homes. In the remaining homes, the kitchen and bathroom were not affected.

The roofs of all seven blocks of apartments were replaced and, during the renovation, new brick facades were added to the blocks.

Most homes were occupied throughout the renovation and parts of the demolition, so there was a strong focus on resident contact, involvement and coordination.

The project was delivered 14 days ahead of schedule in May 2021.
