Kvægtorvet Slagelse: Completion of Nursing Home and Senior Housing

Kvægtorvet

Nordstern completes 12,000 m² of senior housing and nursing home at Kvægtorvet in Slagelse

The project involves the completion of a nursing home and senior housing in Slagelse.

Following the bankruptcy of Dansk Boligbyg, Nordstern has taken over the task of completing a major residential development in Slagelse in collaboration with PFA. A partnership built on mutual trust and shared ambitions to create modern, high-quality housing. The project comprises a total development of approximately 27,300 square meters in the attractive area near the train station, with Nordstern responsible for around 12,000 square meters.

The construction includes a nursing home with 75 units, a senior cohousing community with 30 apartments and a shared community house, as well as 32 senior apartments under the Seniorbolig Plus concept. Drawing on strong experience in constructing both nursing homes and senior residences, Nordstern contributes actively to creating safe and well-functioning living environments for seniors with and without care needs.

All three residential blocks in the project have already been initiated and are at various stages of completion. Nordstern officially took over the construction responsibility on February 13, 2025, and is working with a clear focus on ensuring an efficient and high-quality building process.

Block 1 houses the nursing home of approximately 6,500 square meters, along with around 825 square meters of senior apartments on the rooftop, divided into nine units.

Block 3 consists of approximately 1,789 square meters of Seniorbolig Plus apartments, distributed across 23 units.

Block 7 includes around 2,480 square meters of senior cohousing with 30 apartments and a shared community house.

The project is a strong example of how modern residential development can enhance the quality of life for elderly citizens while breathing new life into the city’s central areas.
