Office building of 8,674 sq m
Jyllands-Posten's new headquarter is located on the former Midtkraft site by Aarhus harbor. The project includes the construction of an 8,674 sq m building. The building's shape is fan-like, consisting of three trapezoidal building volumes designed as modulated and perforated concrete facades, while the facade facing east and Basin 3 stands out as a large glass window. The building's pointed corner towards the southeast gives the house a distinctive signature and gives the interior the impression of standing at the bow of a ship.
All installations are visible with building automation.
The new headquarters accommodates 400 office spaces, both as single offices, open-plan offices, and open environments. On the ground floor, besides offices and a range of other functions, there is an auditorium used for events for readers and customers, and on the top floor, there is a canteen and an outdoor terrace. Conference rooms with a special focus on media coverage and IT have been established. The indoor climate is fully controlled by a Building Management System (BMS), including ventilation, cooling, heating, lighting, and external solar shading. The building is also fully sprinklered (including the atrium) and has a comprehensive fire alarm and public address system.
Security was a particular focus in the planning of this project, due to the media house's need for a high-security level.
