Open office environments, small meeting rooms and city council hall
Nordstern has renovated and rebuilted four out of seven blocks to create the new Horsens Town Hall. The buildings previously belonged to VIA University College, which moved into new premises on Banegårdsgade - a previous Nordstern project.
The project involved the creation of several open office environments with room for ten people in each area. There are also small meeting rooms with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass panels.
Existing installations, fixtures and ceilings were subject to environmental remediation. Along with wood-clad walls, new acoustics and ceilings with wood mouldings contribute to a natural, stable indoor climate.
To future-proof the building, facades, doors and all window sections were replaced. The technical installations of the buildings were entirely refurbished and lighting installations replaced.
The distinctive floor-to-ceiling glass sections of the council chamber fill the space with daylight. The height of the chamber was increased and the walls clad in natural wood.
