The Three Sisters consist of three residential buildings in Herning, with a total area of 16,982 m²
Herning+ is a development project centrally located in Herning on the site of the former hospital. The project includes various types of housing, including social housing, private housing, tower blocks, high-rises, as well as accompanying facilities such as parking spaces, grocery stores, and a café area.
Herning+ consists of 14 individual construction projects totaling 56,000 m², three of which are being developed for PKA Properties: Sister Ane's House, Sister Nielsine's House, and Sister Fanny's House.
Sister Ane's House comprises 7,489 m² of residential construction, featuring 87 apartments across four floors. The apartments range in size from 41 m² to 104 m², offering one to four rooms. All units come with a private balcony or terrace. The buildings are designed as a residential courtyard with a shared central space. Constructed in concrete and clad with red bricks, the design creates cohesion within the area and across the various projects. Beneath the building, a 250 m² basement and a 3,895 m² underground parking garage are provided on one level. The basement includes storage rooms, utility rooms, and bicycle parking, while the parking garage has space for 96 cars. Sister Ane's House was the first project completed for PKA Properties, handed over in July 2024.
Sister Nielsine's House comprises 5,753 m² of residential construction, featuring 67 apartments across four floors. The apartments range in size from 40 m² to 104 m², offering one to four rooms. All units come with a private balcony or terrace. The buildings are constructed in concrete and clad with red bricks to ensure design consistency within the area and across the projects. Sister Nielsine's House is expected to be completed by October 2025.
Sister Fanny's House comprises 3,740 m² of residential construction, featuring 44 apartments across four floors. The apartments range in size from 56 m² to 87 m², offering two to three rooms. All units come with a private balcony or terrace. The buildings are designed as a residential courtyard with a shared central space. Constructed in concrete and clad with red bricks, the design ensures consistency within the area and across the projects. Sister Fanny's House was handed over in November 2024.
The projects are expected to meet the requirements for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and are constructed according to energy standard A2020.
The Swan Ecolabel places a strong emphasis on a healthy indoor climate. This project focuses on energy-efficient appliances, eco-labeled products, and the use of timber certified by either FSC or PEFC. Additionally, the design process placed increased focus on daylight calculations and moisture prevention.
