Renovation of 332 homes in seven blocks of apartments

Henriksgården

Complete renovation of bathrooms and creation of accessible housing

The project involves the refurbishment of Henriksgården's 332 public housing.

All homes will either have a refurbished balcony or a new balcony, if the home does not already have one. In addition, all bathrooms will be totally refurbished. 56 accessible homes will be built on the ground floor.

The refurbishment includes several sustainable initiatives. All buildings will be given extra insulation on the outer walls, new brick facades, new roofs and ventilation systems. Energy-saving windows and entrance doors will also be installed, and there will be solar panels on the roof. The idea of the PV system is for 25-30% of the residents’ electricity consumption to be covered by renewable energy. These initiatives contribute to the City of Copenhagen’s goal of becoming a carbon-neutral capital city.

Nordstern is responsible for resident management and has a permanent resident coordinator on site to ensure that residents are notified and informed in plenty of time. Nordstern liaises with the residents that are being affected. The residents of 124 homes will be relocated during the refurbishment process, with two blocks being refurbished at a time. The client’s rehousing coordinator is responsible for the rehousing, and Nordstern assists with the coordination to the extent requested by the client.
