Development of empty commercial property in collaboration with the City of Copenhagen
Sundmolen is an extensive residential project in Copenhagen, which Nordstern developed and built for CapMan Real Estate. The building was constructed on an empty commercial site in close cooperation with the City of Copenhagen throughout the process.
Sundmolen was built in three stages: Sundmolehusene, CPH Porthouse and Copenhagen Square.
The last stage was Copenhagen Square, which consists of 80 owner-occupied apartments ranging from 61 to 182 sq m. All homes have at least one balcony or terrace, while the ground floor homes have direct access to the courtyard and small front areas.
On the roof, there are rooftop homes with private roof terraces. Each home has at least one storage room and access to bicycle parking.
The facade is alternately recessed and protruding, lending the building a vibrant look that alternates between light and shadow inside and out.
Copenhagen Square is a functional, modern building with views of the water and access to common areas, including a courtyard with a barbecue area, a play area and direct access to the harbour baths in Nordhavn.
The project follows DGNB manual 2016 Apartment buildings and terraced houses. Sundmolen is registered for a DGNB certification and is aiming for a final DGNB Gold certification.
