Construction of a 16-storey hotel tower for the existing City Towers in Aarhus

City Towers is being expanded with a new 16-storey hotel tower, which is being built by Nordstern in collaboration with the client, CLF Lorenzen K/S, and the tenant of the hotel tower, Comwell Hotels.

The hotel tower consists of 161 hotel rooms, fitness centre, meeting facilities, restaurant and rooftop terrace with sky bar. On the first floor there will be eight meeting and conference rooms where hotel guests can organise parties or events. The hotel's rooms are located up to the 12th floor, followed by a restaurant and function rooms up to the 15th floor, while the 16th and final floor offers a 370 sq m roof terrace with a sky bar where hotel guests can enjoy 360-degree views of Aarhus city centre.

Under the hotel tower, a 740 sq m basement will be built with an automatic car park for 50 cars.

In addition, an intermediate building will be constructed on the first floor to connect the existing City Towers with the new hotel tower.

As part of the project, the restaurant in the existing building will be expanded by 210 square metres.

Nordstern also built the existing City Towers in Aarhus, which was handed over in 2014. After the expansion of City Towers, the total capacity will be 401 rooms.

The project follows DGNB manual 2020 Hotel. City Towers is registered for a DGNB certification and is aiming for a final DGNB Silver certification.
