Renovation and remodelling of 222 apartments

Renovation and remodelling of a total of 21 stairwells with 222 apartments.

Renovation of a block of one- to three-bedroom family homes on five floors and a basement. All apartments have new balconies, bathrooms, kitchens and installations such as electricity, plumbing, ventilation and heating. The sewer and basement exterior walls were also renovated.

Lifts were installed in ten of the stairwells to improve accessibility for residents. As a result, 25 of the existing homes were scrapped.

A new tiled roof with fixed roofing underlay was installed. As part of the work on the roof, existing loft spaces were converted into homes. This created 32 new rooftop homes. New doors, windows and balconies were installed in the rooftop homes.

During renovation, environmental remediation was carried out on the building.

Following renovation, Beringsgaard Unit 3 consists of 197 apartments and 32 rooftop homes - a total of 229 homes.

Beringsgaard Unit 4 was also renovated and remodelled in parallel with the project. Together, the two neighbourhoods make up a total of 344 homes in 31 stairwells.
