Renovation and remodelling of 113 public housing

Renovation and remodelling of ten stairwells, consisting of 113 public housing, and the construction of rooftop homes for Bolig Horsens.

14 of the 113 existing homes were scrapped and merged. The project also included the construction of a new roof structure, 16 rooftop homes and a new technical room for each floor. The existing roof tiles were carefully dismantled, sorted and reused on the interior roofs. Half of the tiles on the new roofs are recycled roof tiles. New dormers were constructed for the apartments on ground, first, second, third and fourth floors.

The remaining 51 apartments were completely refurbished. All surfaces in the apartments – floors, walls, ceilings – were replaced. The apartments were also given new kitchens and bathrooms.

48 homes were converted to accessible homes, and new bathrooms, kitchens, lifts and balconies with level-free access were installed.

All apartments have new ventilation systems, sewage installations, heating systems, water installations, and electrical and fibre installations.

Beringsgaard Unit 4 now consists of 99 apartments and 16 rooftop homes - a total of 115 homes.

In parallel with the project, Beringsgaard Unit 3 was also refurbished and remodelled. Together, the two neighbourhoods make up a total of 344 homes on 31 stairwells.
