Private nursing home with 80 accessible homes and a daycare centre for 89 children
The project includes two buildings. The northern building has four stories and the southern building has three. There is an enclosed walkway between the two buildings, making it easy for residents and staff to walk between them.
In addition, there are two lifts – one for bed transport and one for general use.
Each housing unit has one bedroom and a private bathroom. Each home follows specific accessibility requirements that make it easy for residents and staff to move around.
On each floor, there is a preparation kitchen and a large covered balcony connected to the room. The balconies are spacious, so they can be used by wheelchair users.
There are enclosed green outdoor spaces with herb gardens and shared terraces for residents to use.
On the ground floor, there is a daycare centre and a playground extending from the building, bringing life into the daily routines of the residents.
There are 45 parking spaces for visitors, staff, and for picking up or dropping off children at the daycare centre.
The project follows the DGNB Manual 2020 for Renovation and New Construction. Altura has undergone a pre-certification, and the project is moving towards a final DGNB Gold certification. The pre-certificate is issued in 2024.
