New hotel apartments at Postbyen on Bernstorffsgade in Copenhagen

At Postbyen in central Copenhagen, hotel apartments, homes and a publicly accessible mixed-use building are being built. The hotel apartments are part of the masterplan for the new urban area. Postbyen is bounded by Bernstorffsgade to the east and Jernbaneterrænet to the west.

The 236 hotel apartments will be built in two of the five towers, respectively 50- and 90-metre high. The apartments have one to two rooms, and their own kitchen and bathroom facilities. At the bottom of the buildings is a commercial and retail area, which includes a restaurant, bar, café and lounge area.

The architectural expression is paramount: a modern style with flexible spaces.

From the start of the project, the focus has been on the life cycle of the buildings in relation to environmental impact and sustainable solutions to minimise energy consumption and provide a healthy indoor climate.

Postbyen is registered for a DGNB certification and is aiming for a final DGNB Silver certification for the hotel apartments and a DGNB Gold certification for the publicly accessible mixed-use building.
