The renovation of Fællesbo Unit 24 comprises 270 homes in 11 three-storey blocks. After the renovation, there will still be 270 homes, 96 of which will be accessible.
In the context of converting of homes to accessible housing, 16 new internal lifts will be installed to future-proof the development.
The concrete structure of the building is damaged and will be rebuilt. The building will also be given a new shell wall with insulation and a corrugated roof, and the roof space and exterior basement walls will be re-insulated.
All homes will be given new windows, doors and floors. In addition, the renovation includes a new layout for the apartments: a new kitchen and bathroom with new fittings and plumbing equipment, and tiled floors and wall tiles. All homes are environmentally sanitised in relation to asbestos, PCBs and lead, and new ventilation systems and new plumbing and electrical installations are installed.
There will be a partial renovation of the outdoor areas with new activity areas at ground level and a welfare building.
The project takes social responsibility into account with the use of flex jobs, pocket money jobs and company internships for the renovation of Fællesbo Unit 24. A social clause contract has been drawn up that covers the subcontractor’s trainees and apprentices.
