Forum - at Aarhus University Hospital in Skejby

Forum Skejby

14 storey building, Forum, at Aarhus University Hospital in Skejby

14 storey building, Forum, at the New University Hospital in Skejby. The building's central location makes Forum the centre of the New University Hospital and connects the hospital via corridors from north to south.

The first level (basement) is a biobank, used for treatment of illnesses and research. The basement will also have room for experimental research facilities.

The second floor will have a church room, a quiet room, a reflection room and an interdisciplinary knowledge centre for existential and spiritual care. This is a joint project between the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark (Folkekirken) and Aarhus University Hospital.

A large grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation has allowed Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus to establish a clinic on the second and third levels, as well as associated laboratories and offices.

On the four upper floors, a patient hotel will be established with about 60 rooms and disability-accessible rooms overlooking Aarhus and the surrounding area. The patient hotel's dining area will be located on the top floor.

The other floors will house the hospital's departments for Functional Disorders, Clinical Pharmacology and a floor for technical installations.

The Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University will move in together with central and flexible facilities for the university's medical research. The research units include a stem cell laboratory and the Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit (TNU).

With the help of the Novo Nordisk Foundation grant, a park will be established outside Forum.
