Development of former commercial area to new urban district

Nordstern has constructed 117 DGNB Silver-certified homes in Risskov near Aarhus. The development of this former commercial area focuses on sustainable initiatives to ensure a low climatic and environmental load.

Three factory facilities were demolished prior to the construction of the six new blocks of flats. The building measures a total of 5,800 m², and the homes are one, two, three and four room flats with kitchen and bathroom. Each flat will have its own balcony or patio.

The outdoor areas comprise a courtyard with green areas and common areas. There are four roof terraces with common recreational areas for residents - on the third, fourth and fifth floors. The staggered roof terraces will be connected by staircases.

There will be a fully automatic parking facility on the ground floor. Unlike a traditional underground car park, this facility will utilise every inch of space, given that cars will be parked on shelves by robots. The basement will provide room for the storage of residents’ belongings and bicycle parking.

This urban area is aimed at students, families with children and other types of family. The homes are located 2 km from the beach and 6 km from Aarhus city centre.
