Velliv invests in Nordstern-developed residential area

October 30, 2023

Velliv has entered into an agreement with Nordstern on the purchase of land and the construction of a residential area on Bregnerødvej in a scenic area of Birkerød. Nordstern has developed the project together with Velliv.

The new residential area Kilehaven on Bregnerødvej in Birkerød will be built in an attractive area in North Zealand close to the nature area Stavnsholtkilen around Høvelte and Birkerød. Future tenants will thus be close to the local city life in Birkerød, the nature of North Sealand and the vibrant life of the capital.

"Our goal is to create an attractive residential area for the residents, with a focus on green areas and high skies. People need to be together. That is why Velliv focuses on the design of the area so that it can support communities among the residents. We look forward to getting started with the construction of the residential area of the future," says Property Director Solveig Rannje from Velliv.

Nordstern bought the site at the end of 2022, and has since worked on developing a housing project that fits the local plan and the surrounding environment. In accordance with Velliv's wishes, this has resulted in a project focusing on open, green areas and a spacious development with a priority of the community between the residents.

Kilehaven will consist of approx. 9,200 m2 of housing with an associated large and attractive common house. The development consists of eight townhouses of up to four floors, which contain a total of 110 new homes. Velliv expects the project to be completed in 2025. Velliv and Nordstern aim for Kilehaven to meet the requirements of the new EU taxonomy, just as the project will also be DGNB Gold certified.

"Kilehaven will be the first Nordstern building that aims to follow the requirements of the EU taxonomy, but there are more on the way. In Nordstern, we have an ambition that at least 70% of our newly built projects must comply with the taxonomy requirements as early as 2030. That is also why we are pleased with the collaboration with Velliv, which is not only a solution-oriented partner, but also sets high standards for both quality and sustainability in construction," says Torben Modvig, Group CEO, Nordstern.

Nordstern is also the turnkey contractor on the project. Construction is expected to start in spring 2024, and the entire project is expected to be completed about a year and a half later.
