Nordstern to build Gladsaxe's new health and employment centre

October 13, 2022

Nordstern will be the turnkey contractor for the construction of Gladsaxe Municipality's new health and employment centre.

Gladsaxe Municipality has just entered into an agreement with the construction company Nordstern, formerly CASA, to build the municipality's new health and employment house. This happened at a signing ceremony at Gladsaxe town hall earlier today, where both Gladsaxe's mayor Trine Græse and director of Nybyg Øst in Nordstern, Claus Møller, were present.

The new centre will partly be housed in the shell from the former police station on the street Fremtidsvej. The centre will welcome the citizens of Gladsaxe with a single entrance to the municipal health and employment area. In addition to the health and employment centre, the new urban area, named Buddinge Byport, will also consist of an office building and a senior community with 35 homes.

Gladsaxe Mayor Trine Græse is looking forward to working with Nordstern and is pleased that the work can begin.

"Buddinge Byport is the realization of the municipality's vision of creating a beautiful, green and unique entrance to the district. Fremtidsvej has a great location. It is easy to get to and from by bike, bus, train, car and soon also by light rail. Buddinge Byport will open and add new life to the currently enclosed area", says Trine Græse.

Health, employment, housing and business
Gladsaxe Municipality bought the former police station at Fremtidsvej 1 back in 2017, with the intent to placing a new health centre on a part of the site. A year later, AART Architects won an architectural competition for the entire property under the heading 'Buddinge Byport'.

In June, four turnkey contractors submitted their bids to build the health and employment house. Among the bidders, Gladsaxe Municipality chose Nordstern to solve the task.

For Nordstern, it is a great opportunity to make even more of a mark on a sustainable district, the construction and development company is already well connected to. Claus Møller from Nordstern is looking forward to building the Health and Employment Centre, which is close to several of the company's other projects:

"Nordstern has a central branch on Vandtårnsvej, so we already have a good anchor in the local area, which we would like to expand. It means the world to us to be allowed to build the new Health and Employment Centre, both because of the central location and because it strengthens our collaboration with Gladsaxe Municipality", he says.

Demolition work on parts of the old building is expected to begin in 2023 and the new Health and Employment Centre is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
